Hello Tolt families!
Spring is here! We are enjoying the increasing number of days where the sun is shining and the birds are chirping. We hope you are as well.
At Tolt Middle School, we work hard at creating a culture where everybody belongs. We seek ways to partner with our students in making this a reality for our school community. As you may know, we hosted students during lunch to gather feedback and insight. We focused around four key areas: School Safety, Engaging Teaching and Learning, School Lunch Experience, and Cell Phones. From this feedback and in partnership with our students, we have been able to create actionable steps in fostering an inclusionary environment in each of these four focus areas. This includes analyzing flow of student traffic in and out of our buildings, teaching practices that engage students in valuable learning experiences, providing a variety of options during lunch that help students have a meaningful break, and appropriate use of cell phones at school. We are very excited about this work and are proud of our students.
As we finish the month of March, it is a good time to remind your student(s) to finish third quarter strong by checking grades in Skyward, and turning in any make-up work. Third quarter ends on Friday, April 7 and report cards will be sent home at the end of April.
Spring Break is also approaching fast, April 10-14. We wish you all a relaxing and enjoyable break!
Scott Petersen
Interim Principal, Tolt Middle School
