As part of the Week of the Young Child celebrations at MNC Bayview Campus, Teachers organized a fashion show called “DRESS TO IMPRESS”! Children, parents and teachers of the preschool classroom came together to cheer on their little ones who participated with happiness and excitement. It was a delightful experience to see the children walking with confidence down the red carpet.

Some of the parents that were present said:

“I loved it. I love the entire set up. It was togetherness over the event. Great job team! Next time I would love to walk down the Fashion Show line.” - Tianna, Dior’s mom

“Me encantó el Fashion Show! Catalina disfrutó el antes, el durante y el después de todo. Yo, como su mama, amé ver su entusiasmo y ver como disfrutó de principio a fin con sus amiguitos. Gracias Maestros por estas actividades que preparan para nuestros pequeños. Bendiciones.” Paola Palma, mamá de Catalina

“Estaba muy emocionada de ver a los niños y niñas desfilar por la alfombrq roja. Los maestros estabamos contentos de ver la creatividad que los niños mostraron. Hicieron algo diferente. Que se repita!.”( Helen Lucha, Kitchen Specialist.

Definitely, this first fashion show was a success. A second Fashion Show has been called for, and it’s going to be even bigger!

Stand Up for Head Start!

We stand with Head Start and urge lawmakers to reject any cuts to this essential program. The Federal budget cuts would cause 800,000 children and families across the country to lose access to education, health services and the support they rely on. In many areas, especially rural communities, Head Start is a family’s only access to child care. Please protect and strengthen Head Start, an investment in our children, our families, and our future.

Reject any attempts to weaken or eliminate this important program! Spread the word and ACT NOW by adding your signature to the following TWO letters:

Letter to President Trump campaign

“Act Now to Save HeadStart” emails to Congress

Please support our efforts to protect HeadStart and forward your confirmation email to info@mncsf.org to be counted for our goal of 5,000 signatures!

MNC HADS (Healthy Aging and Disability Services) had a collaboration with the De Young Museum and the UCSF Memory and Aging Center. A group of nine participants from HADS took part in an 8-week program where they explored the intersection of art and brain health. Throughout the sessions, they were introduced to or deepened their skills in drawing, painting, using color, and engaging in conversations about creativity and its connection to the brain.

There will also be an exhibition showcasing their work later in July, and we’re excited to share more details as the date approaches. Stay tuned!

Diplomacy and Pope Francis: A Reflection on Leadership and Growth

Mentors and mentees enjoy a lunch discussion focused on diplomacy as a tool for understanding others, resolving conflict with grace, and leading with integrity

Congratulations to Santrecheel Graham!

Congratulations to Valeria Aguillon!

Congratulations to Vivian Lopez!

Congratulations to Adrian Cuyson!

Congratulations to Yaneth Urquijo!

Congratulations to Erica Divinagracia!

Inspired by the principles of diplomacy and the compassionate leadership of Pope Francis, our recent gathering brought together mentors and mentees for a reflective and celebratory luncheon. Much like Pope Francis’ approach to bridge-building across divides, participants engaged in a thoughtful closing discussion, shared personal insights, and explored the importance of self-awareness in leadership. The event marked the completion of our inaugural Mentorship Program—a journey rooted in humility, service, and mutual growth.

This gathering honored the dedication, time, and courage it takes to lead with empathy and purpose. Discussions focused on diplomacy as a tool for understanding others, resolving conflict with grace, and leading with integrity—qualities Pope Francis continues to model on the world stage.

Congratulations mentees Adrian Cuyson, Erica Divinagracia, Jesbi Serrano, Santrecheel Graham, Theresa Sanchez, Valeria Aquillon, Vivian Lopez, and Yaneth Urquijo for completing this mentorship pilot and creating an engaging and thought-provoking program. Thank you to the mentors Richard Ybarra, Beiling Gonzalez, Sebastian Alioto, and Ana Cobos. Thank you to Paula Ayala, for leading this mentorship pilot.
