Woodland Avenue Waterline and City of Palo Alto Interconnect
Construction work for the Woodland Avenue waterline and City of Palo Alto emergency intertie project began. The City’s Contractor, Golden State Construction & Utility Inc., is preparing for the tie-in at Scofield and Woodland.This project would establish an emergency intertie with the City of Palo Alto’s water system. Establishment of interties will allow the City to obtain emergency water in case the City’s connection with the Hetch Hetchy Aqueduct is severed. Currently, the City has no emergency source of water if the City’s connection with the Hetch Hetchy Aqueduct is severed. University Ave & Weeks St 12-inch Water Main Project:
Construction for the University Avenue & Weeks Street Watermain project is underway. The Weeks Street portion was recently completed and now the contractor is continuing installation of the new 12" water main active on Cooley and University Avenue. The crew is actively working on service lateral connections on Cooley and Weeks Street work including abandoning the existing water main, concrete restoration, and asphalt restoration.
