The Rector Search Committee has completed a major milestone, with the completion of Phase I of our search process for a new Rector.
The first phase of the search process required the Search Committee to do a self-study of the congregation to discover the strengths and weaknesses of the parish and, most importantly, what skillset and personal qualities the members of Resurrection wanted in their new Rector. Those results were presented to the congregation on October 2 last year.
Based on that self-study, the Search Committee created a profile, which tells the story of our Parish, its demographics, needs, community environment, history, vision, dreams, and mission. Sincere appreciation to the Search Committee for their dedicated and difficult work to create this important document about the Church of the Resurrection, which will be given to clergy interested in learning about our church community and possibly applying to be Rector.
The second phase of the search process now begins in earnest. Applications for our 5th Rector are now being accepted. Information about the position will be available in The Episcopal Church database accessible to clergy searching for a new position and actively shared through the network of diocesan transition officers.
All potential candidates must apply through Father Chas Marks, the designated representative at the Diocese of West Missouri as our Transition Missioner. Likewise, any referral of names of potential candidates must be made through Father Marks. The Diocese will perform any required initial screening and forward names of qualified candidates to the Search Committee for consideration.
