United Way of Southeastern Idaho is inviting individuals who care deeply about our community to consider serving on our Board of Directors and help guide our mission and impact.

MEET OUR INTERNS!

Sadie supports United Way of Southeastern Idaho as the KIDS First Coalition Administrator through our partnership with Idaho State University and AmeriCorps VISTA.

She is pursuing a Master’s in Public Administration and brings a strong passion for childcare accessibility and community collaboration.

Her work helps strengthen partnerships, coordinate coalition efforts, and support families across our region. We’re grateful for the thoughtfulness and leadership she brings to this work.

Olivia is interning with United Way of Southeastern Idaho while pursuing her Master’s in Social Work at Idaho State University. Her internship focuses on increasing community awareness around ALICE households and supporting advocacy for working families across our region.

This spring, Olivia will also play a key role in coordinating Region 6’s Strengthening Families Month in April, in partnership with the Idaho Children’s Trust Fund. Her insight and commitment continue to strengthen this work.

PARTNERSHIPS IN ACTION

We are grateful for the continued generosity and partnership of the donors who support the work of United Way of Southeastern Idaho. Their investments reflect not only financial commitment, but also the care, creativity, and engagement of employees and organizations working together to strengthen our community.

The five check presentations highlighted below represent recent, exemplary contributions that demonstrate leadership, collaboration, and a shared dedication to giving back in meaningful ways.

Dec. 15 - Farm Bureau Insurance Company of Idaho and its employees contributed a $58,000 donation through their fall fundraising campaign. This generous investment reflects a strong commitment to supporting community impact across Southeastern Idaho.

Jan. 7 - City of Pocatello employees came together through this year’s United Way of Southeastern Idaho campaign to raise $25,136 in support of local programs and services. Participation from the Pocatello Fire Department helped strengthen this collective effort and expand its community impact

IDAHO COMMUNITY SCHOOLS FEDERAL FUNDING UPDATE

$30,000 in Federal Funding Preserved for Idaho Community Schools

In December, critical federal funding that supports Idaho’s Community Schools efforts was preserved following a successful appeal submitted by United Way of Treasure Valley. Without this action, funding reductions would have impacted 47 rural schools across Idaho, including American Falls School District in our region.

This outcome represents an important win for students, families, and educators, and highlights the power of coordinated advocacy and partnership in protecting community-based education strategies. We’re grateful for the leadership and persistence that helped ensure these resources remain in place for the schools and communities that rely on them.

To learn more about the appeal, the funding update, and what this means moving forward, we encourage readers to visit United Way of Treasure Valley’s page for full details.

Together, we can take action and provide the necessary resources to help young learners thrive. Let's empower the next generation and create a brighter future for all.

WOMEN UNITED

December Holiday Social Recap

Our December Women United Holiday Social was a meaningful way to close out the year together. Members gathered to assemble Welcome Home Kits for community members transitioning into stable housing through Aid for Friends, helping provide comfort and essentials as they transition into independent living.

A special thank-you to ICCU, whose generous contribution played a big role in making this project possible. Thanks to the collective efforts of our members and partners, we were able to donate 18 Welcome Home Kits to support community members.

We also celebrated the impact of our Women United Murder Mystery Dinner by presenting checks to the nonprofit partners supported through the fundraiser: Bannock Youth Foundation, Bingham Crisis Center, Family Services Alliance, and Oneida Crisis Center.

It was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when women come together with purpose, generosity, and heart. Thank you to everyone who contributed time, donations, and support to make this gathering so special.
