Today is Giving Tuesday 2020. This year, I am requesting your support for our work towards peace and to help end the threat of nuclear war. There are only a few hours to help WILPF US reach our goal.

This year, our 75-year struggle to obtain and ratify the UN Treaty to Prohibit Nuclear Weapons accomplished a huge win. This hard-won success came after decades of diplomacy, advocacy, and work by dedicated WILPF volunteers and allies who made this issue their issue. The next phase of our work to increase public awareness and encourage our own government to sign on is just beginning. 

In 2021 we will continue organizing to effectively promote this important treaty. While recent events have distracted the media from the threat of nuclear disaster and the hope of global prohibition of nuclear arms, we know from the example of activists who came before us that we must maintain our focus in advocating for peace and safety for everyone, everywhere.
