The Hail Holy Queen Prayer

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn, then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.

R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

REMINDERS

Deadline for Verbesey Award Nominations is Today, May 1!

Juniors and Seniors: Please remember to nominate a faculty member for the 2026 Verbesey Award for Excellence in Education.  Please use this form to nominate by May 1.

Important Information for Students Taking the SAT on Saturday, May 2

  • Check your computer and confirm that the "BlueBook" application is installed on your CCHS MacBook. If it is not, see Mr. Hicks in the library before the end of the day on Friday, May 1st.
  • On Saturday morning of the test, arrive for the SAT by 7:45 AM to allow yourself time to check into the testing center. Doors will open at 7:30 AM and the test starts promptly at 8:00 AM. This is a large administration. Arriving early allows us to begin on time. Students who arrive late will not be allowed to test.
  • Bring your PRINTED SAT entry ticket and photo ID and your fully-charged computer. Acceptable forms of photo ID are current year Student ID, valid Driver's License, or a Passport. You may print your ticket once you log into the BlueBook application on your computer and go through the preliminary terms for the test on Saturday. Failure to bring any one of these items will result in dismissal from the test center. There are no loaner computers available for those who forget their computer.
  • Make sure to charge your computer the night before the SAT. Opportunities to charge your computer while testing will be limited, and may hinder the completion of your test. Having a full charge when you arrive will alleviate this issue.
  • One final note - if you are taking your SAT test here at CCHS, you will use your Charlotte Catholic issued computer. If, however, you are testing at a site OTHER THAN Catholic, you will need to use a personal device. CMS Schools have already stated that devices with protection and monitoring software such as ours will not work on any of their networks.

AP Exam Reminder

AP exams begin Monday, May 4. If a student has an AP exam, that is the only school obligation for that day. The expectation is that students are in school and in class all other days.

AP Volunteers Still Needed: May 4-15, 2026

We're looking for parent volunteers to help keep our hallways quiet and orderly during AP testing - especially while non-testing students are transitioning between classes. Your presence helps create the calm, distraction-free environment our students need to do their best.

When: May 4-15, 2026

Morning shift: 8:00-11:30 AM

Afternoon shift: 12:00-3:00 PM

Link: AP Volunteer Sign Up Genius

Feel free to sign up for multiple shifts. It requires little but helps tremendously!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES & COMMUNITY EVENTS

New Ministry Leader wanted for “Meal Bags to go” Ministry at Saint Matthew Catholic Church (starting mid June 2026)

We are in search of a new leader to be in charge of our ministry “Meal Bags to go”

It’s a great way of volunteering and helping the community especially the Community Shelter of Union County.

Do not hesitate to contact Florence Juredieu-Cole if you are interested and we can explain how the ministry is running.

Thank you very much in advance for your interest in the ministry we created and developed over the past 5 years.

Be a Buddy to a Camp SOAR Camper @ The Jewish Community Center

The Penguin Project – Mentor Opportunity

The Penguin Project pairs peer mentors with young artists who have developmental or learning disabilities. Over three months, students build friendships, rehearse, and perform in a musical production.

This year, we are presenting Seussical Jr., and the program has grown so much that we now need additional mentors. We are especially looking for male mentors to help balance the team.

There is no cost to participate, and no theatre experience is needed—just a willingness to support and be a good friend.

Please visit the Theatre Charlotte website for more information. Questions can be directed to Dr. Maria Leahy or Penguin Project Artistic Director, Chris Timmons. and feel free to reach out with any questions or interest. Save the date to attend our performances on June 19-21.
