Dear people of Bethlehem,
Blessed new year and blessed Epiphany to you all. Christmas Eve was wonderful and warm at Bethlehem. There was so much light and hope. Thank you for the joy it was to see so many of you, particularly the young adults of the congregation who return every year to remind me of the reach of grace. They are so gifted and wonderful, and are making better this world.
My deep thanks to all of you for the many Christmas wishes and gifts you have offered, especially the congregational gift. I was overwhelmed, as I often am, by your generosity. My deepest thanks. The birth of baby Zachary Nelson has added particular joy to this season of our lives together. I look forward to all that the new year will bring. As a congregation, we are blessed in so many ways, and I am honored to serve as your pastor.
In deep gratitude,
Pastor Laura

Dear Bethlehem Family,
Alissa and I would like to introduce you to the newest member of the Nelson household:
Zachary (Zachy) Feniuk Nelson
| |
Zachy was born on December 23rd, and both he and Alissa are doing well.
On behalf of our (newly) family of three, I want to thank you for all of the love, care, and support that you have shown to us during this wonderful time of transition and growth. We feel so lucky to get to be a part of this community, and you all are such a blessing in our lives. We missed you all on Christmas Eve, but we cannot wait for you to get to meet this newest addition to the Nelson household. Thank you especially for the incredible generosity of your Christmas gift this year.
I’d also like to say how incredibly grateful we are to Pastor Laura. The encouragement, love, and support that she has shown us throughout the pregnancy has been so amazing. I am especially thankful for her willingness to allow me to be with my family on Christmas Eve. It truly is an honor to get to partner with her in the ministry of this congregation.
I will be taking some vacation time from December 23rd – January 5th and my parental leave will be split into two parts. The first will be during Lent from March 10th – April 5th after which I’ll be back for Palm Sunday, Holy Week, and Easter. And then the second half of my parental leave will be from April 21st – June 15th.
Hoping that you all had a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
With a thankful heart,
Pastor Sam

In addition to offering this class to new Stephen Ministers, we are opening the class to anyone in the congregation who would like to improve the listening and caring skills that you use in your own life- either in your personal life or in the ministries you are part of within the church or community.
The class will take place on Monday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the Multi-Use Room beginning on January 27 and continuing to June. The cost of the class is $50 which covers the cost of books.
The books can be paid for by either cash or check and given to either Judy Foland or Laure Reynolds. You can also pay electronically via the church’s Vanco site. We will be ordering the books by January 10.
