News for the Week of Sunday, October 4 |
| | | |
|
Dear Friends,
It’s a full weekend at All Saints, a weekend when we hold sorrow and joy in one hand.
Today, Friday, we will commend long-time and beloved parishioner Jim Crandall to God at a funeral at 2 pm. There will be a visitation at 1 pm in the church and a reception afterwards in the parish hall.
On Saturday we celebrate a wedding (the third of four fall weddings here this season!).
Then, on Sunday, we celebrate the Feast of St. Francis, the last day of the Season of Creation with our furry, feathered, and scaly friends at the 9 and 11 am services, blessing the creatures who bless our lives. All reasonably well-behaved pets welcome. Pets made nervous by sitting in church can be blessed at 10:30 am on the front lawn. The 8 am service remains fur, feather, and scale free.
All Saints is a place where we can celebrate the fullness, the complexity, of our whole lives, as we worship God, comfort one another in our grief, and celebrate together in our joys.
See you in church!
Faithfully, Suzanne
P.S. Elizabeth Moriarty, former parishioner, good friend of All Saints, and organizer of our Greenlining Campaign will be ordained priest tomorrow at Grace Episcopal Church in Manchester, NH at 11 am (EST). You can see the invitation below, along with a link to view the ordination!

Sunday, September 27: Pledge Campaign Kick-off thru Sunday, October 25: Ingathering & Celebration
All Saints: Light is at Work
The All Saints annual pledge drive for 2027 kicks off this Sunday!
Light is at work at All Saints: as we steward our relationships, resources, service to our neighbors, creative responses in ministry, and seek new ways to connect and deepen faith. Come, see, and be amazed.
We’ll be sharing stories regarding All Saints’ needs, our financial goals, how your financial gifts allow us to craft goals, and how your commitment contributes to creating a faithful budget. We’ll have some fun, too!
Thank you in advance for your continued support. Whether you’ve pledged for years, are considering pledging for the first time, or are unable to pledge right now, please know All Saints wouldn’t be the same vibrant, faithful, and inclusive community without you.
More info and conversation to come!

A Note of Gratitude for the “Back to School Drive” for Ravenswood Elementary School
Many heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to the recent “Back to School Drive” for our neighborhood Ravenswood Elementary School. Once again, it was quite a success!
Along with backpacks and supplies, donations for copy paper provided countless reams. The nearly $1,800 donated for paper provided 151,250 sheets of paper; when stacked on top of one another, the height would be equivalent to the height of a 5 story building! The generosity of All Saints is immensely appreciated by the teachers and staff.
These contributions for our friends at Ravenswood Elementary support a great start to the new school year.

On November 3, 2026, our community will vote on a binding referendum to decide whether to expand mental health services in Edgewater, Lincoln Square, and Uptown through a 0.025% property tax increase.
