A special thank you to the International Wound Journal for publishing the abstracts from the 2026 joint meeting between MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's Functional Diabetic Limb Salvage: A Team Approach in collaboration with the Wound Healing Foundation, 8-11th April 2026, Washington, DC, USA

The top eleven abstract authors were given podium presentations during the meeting in honor of Greg Schultz, PhD. At the time of his passing, Dr. Schultz was the Award Chair and a Board of Director of the Wound Healing Foundation and a Course Director for the joint meeting. Dr. Schultz was a consistent champion for quality clinical and bench science focused on improving wound healing. Presenting the best science in Dr Schultz's honor at the conference seemed like a natural extension to his legacy.
