Celebrate Earth Week with EVLT
Join EVLT and partners for a week of conservation, learning, connection, and camaraderie to protect the wildlife habitat and open spaces that our community depends on.

As trails around our community open, we’re launching our signature Community Land Connection Series, and introducing a one-week donation matching challenge generously provided by EVLT’s board of directors – that means your Earth Week donations will be doubled through April 23rd!

Earth Week, which coincides with the changing of the seasons and the opening of several trails countywide, is the perfect time to get outside to enjoy the benefits of protected land in our community – the protected land that you helped make possible. We’re taking the opportunity to launch a variety of innovative new (and free!) programs with our partners throughout our community.

Saturday, April 22, 2023 | 9am – 1pm @ Gypsum Community Boat Site

Spring’s arrival marks the beginning of another recreation season across the Rocky Mountains. Last year, a fire sparked west of the Town of Gypsum on public lands and burned approximately 95 acres before being contained, leaving some damage to the Gypsum Campground and Community Boat Launch. The blaze also revealed trash and debris that had previously been covered by vegetation. Colorado’s public lands often bear the brunt of the recreational cycle, and now is our chance to help clean up and restore our public lands.
This Earth Week, EVLT is teaming up with our partners at the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) for a restoration project at the Gypsum Campground to help restore the land after the fire. Activities will include trash pickup and native seed planting. We’re calling on you to come out, and help restore our public lands. Lunch provided! Please RSVP.
