Our Summer Adventures

Dear Friends,

Students across New York City are buzzing with excitement about the start of a new school year. As we celebrate these new beginnings, we're also looking back at an incredible summer filled with fun and learning.

CAMBA offered a wide range of engaging and enriching activities that brought joy and learning to 2,200 young people — just take a scroll through our scrapbook of summer vacation memories:

Some of the highlights include:

• STEAM Projects: Our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) activities — featured on CBS New York! — provided a platform for hands-on learning and creativity. From building dioramas to conducting chemistry experiments, these projects nurtured problem-solving skills and a passion for science and technology.
• Cooking Classes: Our cooking classes were a big hit, giving kids the chance to learn new culinary skills while preparing healthy and delicious meals. The children were excited to experiment with new recipes and developed a love for cooking. Kids also learned a lot about where our food comes from through gardening workshops.

These adventures are more than just summer fun—they are vital experiences that help to build a foundation of skills, confidence, and curiosity that will benefit them for years to come. For our SYEP (Summer Youth Employment Program) participants, more than 1,000 young people gained valuable work and learning experience to add to their resumes.

Thank you once again for your commitment. We are deeply grateful for your ongoing support of our mission to make a difference in the lives of New Yorkers of all ages. Our ability to provide these programs and services sends a powerful message that every child deserves the chance to explore their potential.
