NPR News Series: Kindergarten in Ukraine
On Feb. 23, 2022, Iryna Sahan's kindergarten class at school No. 323 in Kharkiv was busy rehearsing poems for an upcoming performance. They were just months away from graduating, a ceremonial rite of passage in Ukraine's education system. Then Russia invaded.

NPR education reporter Elissa Nadworny has followed the 20 kindergarteners in that classroom over the past year. They are now attending different schools, living in different countries, and processing the war in their own ways. This series is set to begin Tuesday, April 11 during All Things Considered and air across the newsmagazines.
BBC Documentary: The Climate Question
A new BBC documentary examines the origins of climate science going back to 1856. That's when amateur scientist Eunice Foote discovered a link between carbon dioxide and global warming. Why wasn't this discovery taken seriously? And looking to the future, does the solution reside in space? Tune in for this week's Sunday Radio Matinee, April 9 at 12 p.m., for this one-hour special.

[Editor's note: Because of breaking news coverage, broadcast of 'The Climate Question' has been rescheduled for Sunday, April 16.]
New podcast from Science Friday: Universe of Art
How do we use art to process the world around us in ways that science can't? Science Friday is launching a new podcast, Universe of Art, to ponder that question and many more. Hosted by D Peterschmidt, a SciFri producer and self-described 'art nerd,' episodes will discuss astronomers who integrate space into their artwork, drag performers who bring science into their acts, and many other stories where art and science intersect. Coming soon wherever you get podcasts.
