An online support group for adults with autism to share successes and concerns, give and receive support, and be a part of a community that understands.
ASGC Partners with Goshen Fire Department
We’re proud to partner with first responders in our area to ensure they have the right training and tools available to help individuals and families cope during an emergency. This includes providing in-person or virtual training, in partnership with the Regional Autism Advisory Council (RAAC), on how to approach emergency situations when there is a child or adult with special needs, and also providing sensory bags that are filled with ways to help de-escalate kids, adults or families in times of crisis.
Recently, the Goshen Township Fire & EMS Station 18 raised funds and made a donation to ASGC so we could provide sensory bags to police and fire departments in Clermont County. On September 28, we delivered 100 bags to be used in police and fire departments across the county. Thank you, Goshen Township Fire & EMS Station 18!
Do you know a local organization, company or department who could benefit from training on how to work with individuals who have autism? Contact Mary Helen Richer at mhricher@autismcincy.org, or Anne Tapia, RAAC Coordinator, at anne.tapia@cchmc.org for more information.
New Support Group! Women Sharing Together
Join us on Thursdays, starting October 7, from 1:30 – 3 p.m. on Zoom for a new online support group for women with autism and chronic physical health concerns. The Women Sharing Together Support Group is a place to talk about health impacts and the stressors women face every day, in a safe space. You’re not alone, and we’re here to help!
The purpose of National Disability Employment Awareness Month is to educate about disability employment issues and celebrate the many and varied contributions of America's workers with disabilities.
Workplaces welcoming of the talents of all people, including people with disabilities, are a critical part of building inclusive communities and a strong economy. We are proud to support the efforts of Greater Cincinnati area employers to hire and retain employees with diverse talents and abilities.
Interested in having ASGC speak to your company or organization about autism? Contact Mary Helen Richer at mhricher@autismcincy.org for more information.
