NewMexicoWomen.Org (NMW.O) is unwavering in our commitment to building a future where sexual assault and all forms of sexual violence are eradicated from our communities. Over half of cisgender women, along with disproportionately high numbers of transgender women, have experienced sexual violence in their lifetimes, with higher rates still among people of color.

Gender-based violence persists due to entrenched patriarchal systems and power dynamics that perpetuate and enable these human rights violations. Our Healthy Masculinities program and NM Healthy Masculinities Toolkit are ways NMW.O is addressing this violence. We're proud to report that the toolkit has been widely accessed and utilized across New Mexico and globally, underscoring the need for this work.

NewMexicoWomen.Org is working to address the impacts and root causes of patriarchy and systemic violence through our Healthy Masculinities program. Since our inaugural grant cycle in 2023, we have seen how these resources enable communities to engage in vital conversations around healthy masculinities, relationships, consent, violence prevention, healthy families, health equity, and transgender cultural competency. This work also aims to heal intergenerational wounds around gender and masculinity.
