I'm sorry to say that we will not be together for a while. I’m writing to let you know how much I’ll miss you, and to let you know that
I believe we can all do our part to learn our music and we will come back together stronger than ever!
That will be a great day!
You may be wondering what to do with all of your time, and I’m here to encourage you to make practicing a big part of it!
As you know, we have five pieces. Please follow these practice guidelines:
- Practice the pieces in their entirety.
- Break them down, concentrating on the parts that are hard for you.
- PLEASE use your metronome!
- Practice slowly and carefully. You can always speed it up, but first you have to learn the notes.
- Pay attention to your key signatures, warm up with your scales!
- Listen to each piece and read along with your music as you listen (several times)
Listening to music makes us all happy and I’m sure we can all enjoy some beautiful music to lift our spirits!
Below your pieces are divided into sections to practice. Click on the name of the piece to listen to it. You can find lots of versions online to listen to-just ask a parent first.

Won’t You Be My Neighbor.
Please destroy the old parts.
Don't feel like you need to cover all of this material every time you practice. Just be sure to go over all of it within the next week, especially if you aren't seeing your private instructor during this time.
I look forward to seeing you all as soon as we can!
Stay home, stay safe, and be kind to your family.

Some Youth Strings musicians were given music to Bohemian Rhapsody. Our plan is to use ALL string players, but we are in the process of writing parts as the original is very difficult. We will need to be flexible with this piece as we find out how much time we have together.
