The Bible is not easy on us when it comes to this business of generosity. We are instinctively selfish people. At first God set the bar low when it came to mandatory giving --- a tithe 10% of one’s holdings. However, generous giving is another story. Generous giving starts when it hurts to give. When one moves in the direction of “poverty” in order to make someone else “rich”.

The generous giver knows and understands that giving does not begin until there is a sacrifice in alignment with the sacrifice of Christ. Genuine Christianity compels the true Christian to become a generous person because the central act of our faith is an act of generosity.

Leonard's Excellent Adventure Continues | Leonard and Sandra continue their travels in Namibia, enjoying time with family and old friends. Here are a few photos of Leonard and his bestie (whose name he didn't share!) enjoying a walk on the beach and having dinner at Heinitzburg Castle, beautiful boutique hotel built in 1914. It is one of three castles in Windhoek, Namibia.

Leonard also shared news of several special celebrations during their visit, including a family birthday, his own birthday, and their daughter's graduation from business school. It sounds like they are making wonderful memories and enjoying plenty of reasons to celebrate along the way!

Gather @ Grace: Summer Fun | Join us on Saturday, August 22nd 1pm-4pm, for a community wide end of summer celebration! There will be crafts, games refreshment & a school supply exchange. Click here for more information.

School Supply Drive | This Sunday, August 16th, we are wrapping up our school supply drive! These supplies will be used in the school supply exchange during Gather at Grace: Summer Fun on August 22. Click here for more information on what items we are collecting.

Youth Escape Room | On Saturday, August 29th, middle & high school students are invited to an escape room experience. Come out and invite a friend! Time TBD; contact Dan Heuser if you're interested.

Farmers Market | One of our farmers market mission statements is "Be a welcoming community that reflects God's love". Our Prayer Station is a space where you can pause for a moment - to pray, to reflect, give thanks, share a prayer request, or simply take a quiet moment for yourself. You are welcome to be prayed for or to pray with someone.

Please stop by the bulletin board and take a moment to read some of the prayer tags that have been shared. You may find a prayer that resonates with you, offers encouragement, or reminds you that you are not alone.
