Celebrating and Preaching

with us this Sunday:

The Rev. Trent Pettit

My Church, My Home

 Stewardship Testimony

I give to Ascension out of my love and appreciation of all that God goes to me and through me. Another reason I give to Ascension is because it is family. I love my Ascension family. To some I am another son, to some I am another brother and. To some I am the crazy uncle or goofy granddad. We are here at Ascension following Jesus’ request. We love and worship God and we love one another. We have been through a lot recently but as any good family we lean on each other and love on each other and we are always blessed. We have a big opportunity to grow our family now. It’s not going to be easy. We, like any family, will have some “squabbles “ about what we need to do but if we listen to God and do as he leads us we will grow and get some more wonderful new members to our family. Again this wonderful family is a great reason for giving of my time, talent and my treasures, all that God gives to me, to Ascension.

Stewardship Campaign

As the 2027 Stewardship Campaign draws to a close, we would like to thank those who have committed to the future of Ascension and submitted a pledge. We would also like to remind everyone that stewardship is all year round; it is never to late to submit a pledge to help Ascension fulfill it’s mission in service to Christ.

Trunk or Treat

Join us for our annual Trunk or Treat on October 30, from 6pm to 8pm. Help make this a memorable community event for the school and neighborhood! Enjoy a fun and safe evening of trick-or-treating, decorated trunks, candy, warm drinks, snacks, and fellowship. Bring the whole family! Please sign up to host a trunk and continue this wonderful way to connect with our school community. Sign up HERE!!

If you would like to help, but are unable to host a trunk, please donate any of the following individually packaged items: juice boxes, Goldfish, chips, Cookies, fruit snacks, Stickers, Bubbles, Trinkets, applesauce, and allergy-friendly candy.

All Saints Candle Lighting

On November 2nd, All Saint’s Sunday, we will be honoring those who have passed in the last year with a lighted candle near the altar. We are including all members of the parish whose services were held here, but if there is someone special you wish to honor, please email their name to the office by Tuesday, October 28th, so we may include them.

End of Daylight Savings

“Fall Behind”

Don’t forget to change your clocks back one hour on November 1st! We get an extra hour

Join us Every Sunday for the Children’s Bridge Worship

at 10:30 a.m.

Each Sunday, we continue to invite our youngest worshippers a dedicated children's time during the service. They simply follow the service leaders from the front of the church to the narthex for a special service, and they return at the Peace. This is one more way we welcome and support young families at Ascension!

Small Groups

Interested in joining a neighborhood small group at Ascension? We’re exploring the idea of putting two types of groups—mixed-age and young-family—that would bring together people from Ascension Church and School and St. John the Divine for Bible study, prayer, meals, friendship, and service. This is also a great opportunity to invite our neighbors to share life with us at Ascension. We will provide curriculum (conversational teaching on the Book of Acts) and discussion questions. Interested or know others who would be? Contact Rev. Trent: tpettit@sjd.org

Ascension Renewal Prayer Group

The members of the Ascension and St John the Divine Prayer Group meet in the church library from 12:15 to 12:45 on Tuesday prior to the Ladies Bible Study. ALL are welcome and encouraged to attend, so if you are nearby, on your lunch break, or have a free moment, PLEASE meet in the church library from 12:15 to 12:45. We have provided a Zoom link to those who would like to join but can’t do so in-person. Click HERE!! Hope to see you there!
