Coordinators' Corner

Seniors (and parents), are you ready for the next two months? It's going to be a busy but special time as our seniors wrap up their high school and IB careers. There’s so much happening, so be sure to stay informed about all the important events to make the most of this exciting season!

Internal Assessments for our DP classes are coming to a close and being submitted to the IBO. These assessments are a significant part of the overall IB course evaluation, so it’s crucial that students complete and submit them on time.

Exam preparation is in full swing for juniors and seniors taking IB assessments starting April 30th. These high-stakes exams are mandatory for all students in a Diploma course and can lead to college credit if performed well. Take them seriously and lean on the invaluable guidance of your teachers as they help you prepare!

But don't forget to enjoy the fun moments, too! The IB Art Show is this Friday — don't miss the chance to admire the amazing work of our IB Visual Art students. Plus, grab your tickets for the final CHS production directed by the legendary Dr. Gretchen Teague next week. And of course, take advantage of the beautiful spring weather by getting outside and cheering on our spring sports athletes!

To our incoming 8th graders and our current 9th and 10th graders--make sure you pay attention to announcements regarding tryouts, applications, and any opportunities that will help get you involved next year.

Let’s make these last two months memorable. Go Bulldogs, and go seniors!

Senior Transcript Information!

Updated Transcripts: If you have previously applied to a college/university and are continuing the process, most schools would like an updated seventh-semester transcript. Be sure to submit a new transcript request form to Connie McCrite, or contact your counselor if applying by Common App.

HL Literature I Individual Orals

IB HL Lit I will be wrapping up Individual Orals this week!

Students are tasked with the following prompt: examine the ways in which the global issue of your choice is presented through the content and form of the two works you have studied.

Students will prepare in class before Spring Break and present their prepared oral to a teacher. This assessment is weighted 20% of students' IB grade.

ACT Help is here!

Just a friendly reminder to student and parents that there is ACT test prep at your fingertips!. These test prep resources are available for all students and may be particularly helpful for juniors. This Quick Guide explains how to access ACT Test Prep through Naviance.

There’s also a test prep button on the CHS College & Career Readiness Canvas course. Students can take full-length practice tests (even one section at a time) or utilize practice questions for sections or subsections that are troublesome. Please reach out if you have any questions!
