Happy Holidays! Despite everything going on during this time of year, it's a great time to stop (just for a bit) and think. With everything that's happening in the world, it's all too easy to get wrapped up in how things have been or fears about how things will be.

My 80+ year old Mom reminded me over Thanksgiving how important it is to focus on 'now' - time flies and before you know the opportunities in front of you today will have passed you by.

It's a great time to appreciate what you have and to think about gratitude.

*Fun fact - when you are feeling grateful, you literally can't be mad or anxious - it's not possible.

So... how are things for you right now?

This month's article (below) digs into the idea of what the culture, the day to day environment of your business is like. For many, there's a focus on creating a 'Family' culture - and it turns out that's a good way to cause some long term problems. Next Business Book Review - Simple Numbers 12/9 8:00

Business owners love to make money, but most of them don't love dealing with the numbers and candidly many business owners don't understand their numbers... which can cause a lot of problems.

That's why I love this book from CPA Greg Crabtree. He calls it Simple Numbers, Straight Talk, Big Profits and he does a great job of laying out a simple financial principles that will benefit and work for any business owner. These principles will give you the foundation you need to make sure your business is making the money you expect (and need) it to.

And that makes it a great topic for a Business Book Review - you'll get a summary of the big ideas, we'll walk through a presentation / discussion and you'll get to meet and hear from a lot of really smart people who are interested in the same topic. It's the best investment of time you can make for yourself all month.
