Prom takes place on Saturday, May 13 on the MOXI Museum Rooftop from 7-10PM. Tickets are $75 each with appetizers, dessert, and mocktails included. Only juniors and seniors may attend with a guest.

SUMMER @ LAGUNA CHESS CAMP

Summer @ Laguna provides two exciting opportunities for campers to learn and build their chess skills. Beginner Chess Camp is offered for rising students in Grades 1-4, and Intermediate/Advanced Chess Camp is offered for rising students in Grades 2-7.
JOIN US AT RASPBERRY PI SUMMER CAMP!
This summer, Laguna Blanca is offering a STEM class for rising Grades 8-11 students who have a passion for science and exploring computer technology. This one-week-long course is designed to engage and inspire students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).

Throughout the week, students will have the opportunity to work on hands-on projects that involve coding and applying scientific concepts. By the end of the week, students will have gained practical experience in programming, scientific inquiry, and teamwork while having fun with like-minded peers.

CELEBRATE ASIAN AMERICAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDER HERITAGE MONTH THROUGH READING!
A great way to celebrate and acknowledge Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month is by reading literature with meaningful and diverse representation of AAPI people. These books feature stories of different ethnic backgrounds, diverse family structures, intergenerational relationships, a multitude of passions, and positive messaging about our differences and
similarities.
Please join us on Wednesday, May 17 for an appreciation luncheon for everyone who has helped Laguna have a spectacular school year.

EMERITUS SOCIETY DINNER
The Emeritus Societycomprised of current and former trustees, as well as former heads of schoolgathered at La Cumbre County Club to celebrate our newest Emeritus Society inductees: Elisabeth Fowler, Bob Fuladi, Christian Heyer, and Tom Tolles.
 
The celebratory event, which had not taken place since January 2020, was expertly hosted by Master of Ceremonies Jim Jackson '78. The attendees were elated to finally reunite and pay tribute to the inductees, while also being treated to motivating speeches from both faculty and students. Ashley Tidey, alongside Dylan Charney '24, and Staci Richard, accompanied by Thomas Couvillion '23, led inspiring presentations showcasing the impressive achievements of the Humanities and Science Research Programs. The esteemed group was thoroughly impressed and delighted by the captivating experiences shared during the event.

FOURTH GRADERS HOST ANNUAL CITIZENSHIP BREAKFAST
Fourth grade students recently organized a Citizenship Breakfast on their campus to learn more about their local community and what it takes to be a good citizen. As a part of this unit, each student chose a special guest from the community and conducted interviews to learn about their profession and how it positively impacts the community.
EARTH DAY FUN
Last Friday, the Lower School held a special celebration in honor of Earth Day! Students rotated between twelve activity stations during the afternoon and enjoyed learning more about how to be better stewards of our planet. Interactive activities included climbing a rock wall; creating birdfeeders using pine cones, sunflower butter, and bird seed; blending up refreshing smoothies by pedaling a bike; meeting Montecito firefighters (and trying on their gear!); creating artwork using recycled electronic parts; and much more.
