We are having a mild and yet dry summer so far.
I just harvested motherwort leaf and flower for a quart of tincture. Last weekend, Tadd and I had our yearly adventure to look for and wildcraft
St. Joan's Wort for tincture and oil.
I graduated and initiated another wonderful apprentice a few weeks ago.
The bliss of our day of ceremony and celebration is still vibrating through me
as I write this.
The height of summer lends itself to an overwhelming sense of "I better harvest this, oh yeah and that over there and if I don't harvest that soon it will be past time." Phew!
Such wild, chaotic abundance.
I have discovered many things about this time of year. It's a time of manifestation, connecting us with such an expansive expression of all that is. And...there is so much light right now that it can feel like everything is happening, much too much and too soon.
I have been experiencing quite a polarity within myself of release and surrender and also quite the opposite of self judgement of what I should be doing and why can't I do it.
I returned to an essay I wrote a few years ago about how I came to be a green witch. In this essay I wrote about learning about the wise woman tradition, " In this tradition, nothing is bad. Everything is wholeness," I wrote. I am returning to this today to allow myself to experience all that life has to offer.
Rainer Marie Rilke said it a little differently,
"Let everything happen to you: Beauty and terror. Just keep going. No feeling is final."
Here is a link to my blog writing,
"I am a Green Witch"
May it be in Beauty.
Peace and Abundant Green Blessings, Julie
