HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
I am blessed beyond belief to be the mother of these two fabulous people! Mothering is hard work, but all of that melts away on Mother's Day (and when they became independent adults).
Mothers come in all varieties. It's the nurturing and care we give (to humans, animals, plants, art, causes, etc.) that makes us mothers. I do recognize, though, that caring for and nurturing something that is loved takes a village. Would you agree? There are spouses/partners, doting grandparents, loving aunts & uncles, devoted babysitters, teachers, coaches, clergy, other parents, friends, neighbors, and on and on.
So I'm sending a very special Mother's Day message of love and appreciation to ALL of you. We have all been part of a "village" that helped to raise and care for things/people that are loved. I believe sharing in that responsibility is an honor and a beautiful thing.
