We are honored to revive a cherished Cathedral tradition: a special Remembrance Concert and Prayer honoring our Cathedral family and friends who have passed away.
This year’s concert features Gregorian chant and sacred music spanning the Renaissance to the present day, with works by Orlando di Lasso, J.S. Bach, Josef Rheinberger, Herbert Howells, William Harris, Zoltán Kodály, Ronald Arnatt, Thomas Howe, Stephen Paulus, and Ivo Antognini.Through music, prayers, and readings woven throughout the program, this special evening will offer a time of reflection, remembrance, and prayer for our dearly departed.
You are invited to have a deceased loved one remembered during the concert and included by name in the printed program. Please email the name to tstehle@stmatthewscathedral.org by October 26, 2026.

| Volunteers Needed to Serve at Mass | |
Mass is made even more meaningful through the generous service of our parish community. We invite parishioners to consider volunteering to assist and help make our liturgies welcoming, prayerful, and beautiful. Whether you are new to volunteering or have served before, your time and willingness to serve are greatly appreciated.

Children's Liturgy of the Word
During Mass each Sunday, before the Scripture readings begin, children ages 4–12 are called forward and sent with a blessing to the Great Hall for a Gospel lesson. Parents are welcome to attend with their children.
They will hear the same Scripture readings that are proclaimed at Mass but explained at a level that younger children can understand. The children will return to their family in church after the Intercessions.

The Book Club will discuss Magnifica Humanitas, the very well-reviewed first encyclical of Pope Leo XIV subtitled Magnificent Humanity: on safeguarding the human person in the time of artificial intelligence. This has become a must-read especially for Catholics, as it “speaks directly to one of the most urgent questions of our time”.
Join the discussion on Thursday, November 5, from 7pm to 8:15 pm, in the West Conference room.
