Hall County - Meet North Georgia potter Dwayne Crocker, whose love for clay began when he was just a child. From digging clay near his family’s home to learning the craft at Wilson Pottery and Craven Pottery, Dwayne has spent decades shaping his own style and keeping the region’s pottery tradition alive.

In this episode of Generations in Clay, Dwayne takes us inside his studio and shows us the art of making a face jug — adding the eyes, mouth, details and personality that make each piece uniquely his.

For Dwayne, pottery isn’t simply a job. It’s a lifelong passion and a tradition worth preserving.

Generations in Clay is produced by Mountains & Main in partnership with the Folk Pottery Museum of Northeast Georgia, celebrating the artists, stories and traditions behind Georgia’s rich folk pottery heritage.

WHITE COUNTY - What if buying a home could help make a difference in a child’s life?

Local realtor Kim Smith, Associate Broker, Living Down South Realty, has made giving back part of every home sale. For each house she sells, Kim donates $500 to the elementary school in the area where the home is located.

We joined Kim at Mount Yonah Elementary, where she presented a $500 check to Principal Mrs. Dean. The donation will help provide incentives for students as they work toward positive behavior and being their best in the classroom.

It’s a simple idea with a meaningful impact — turning home sales into an opportunity to give back to the communities Kim calls home.

BANKS COUNTY - Meet 6-year-old Jersey Wilson of Banks County, Georgia. She started as a sideline cheerleader, but watching her big brother Landon play tackle football inspired her to get in the game herself.

Now Jersey is playing flag football with Banks County Recreation’s 6U team. She admits she gets nervous, but she’s learning to push through those nerves, try something new, and have fun along the way.

Her biggest inspiration? Her brother.

And Jersey has some pretty good advice for anyone who gets nervous:

“If you get nervous, think of football.”

This is a story about courage, family, trying something new, and finding your own place on the field.
