Coordinator's Corner
The school year is in full swing, and fall is finally here! Bundle up and get ready to find new ways to explore the changing season together with your kids!
One of my favorite activities to bring out in the fall is pumpkin geo-boards.
You will need a pumpkin, some golf tees, and plenty of elastic bands. On most pumpkins, you can press a golf tee all the way into the pumpkin. Once your golf tees are in, connect them together by stretching elastic bands over them. Make designs, letters, faces, shapes or whatever your child is currently interested in!
Some kids need help pressing the golf tees into the pumpkin, and some pumpkins are tougher than others. Adults can help make the holes in the pumpkins using the same golf tees. If you are able, using a drill and drill bit work to start the holes for the kids too.
This is such a fun open ended activity for kids! Since it's so open ended you can incorporate Literacy skills, Math skills, and fine motor skills!
