Omaha Against Traffick
National Be Someone Day
July 21, 2026
| |
On National Be Someone Day, Project Harmony and more than 60 local and regional partners launched Omaha Against Traffick, an awareness campaign calling the community to take a stand against child sex trafficking. To mark the launch, a convoy of 30 school buses and one semi-truck drove from Burke High School to Project Harmony’s campus — even driving against traffic near 120th and Q streets — as a powerful reminder that child sex trafficking can hide in plain sight and that protecting children requires all of us.
Created by Project Harmony's Anti-Trafficking Initiative, Omaha Against Traffick encourages community members to learn the signs of trafficking, report suspected abuse, share awareness resources and start conversations with friends, family and coworkers. You can get involved by...
“Child sex trafficking hides in plain sight across all types of communities,” said Gene Klein, CEO of Project Harmony. “The work we and our partners do to prevent exploitation, empower survivors and hold perpetrators accountable could not be done without the awareness and support of the public. In driving against traffic with a convoy of school buses — symbols of childhood innocence — we ask our neighbors to understand that child sex trafficking happens everywhere, and to join us in the fight to protect our youth.”
Together, we can raise awareness, support survivors and help end child sex trafficking in our community. Be someone in the life of a child and learn more about how you can spot the warning signs.

| National Make-A-Will Month | |
August is National Make-A-Will Month, a reminder to take an important step in protecting the people and causes you care about most.
Creating a will provides peace of mind for your loved ones and helps ensure your wishes are carried out for generations to come. Yet many Americans still do not have an estate plan in place. At Project Harmony, we are grateful for all of our supporters, including those who have chosen to include the children and families we serve in their legacy plans.
Through a gift in a will, trust, retirement account or beneficiary designation, you can help continue Project Harmony’s mission of providing safety, healing and hope for children well into the future.
A legacy gift does not have to be large to make a lasting impact. Every planned gift helps strengthen the future for children in our community. This month, we encourage you to:
• Create or update your will
• Review your beneficiary designations
• Talk with your loved ones about your wishes
• Consider the legacy you want to leave
For a confidential conversation about legacy giving at Project Harmony, contact Kristie Arlt at 531.867.3092 or karlt@projectharmony.com. Learn more about your legacy giving options!
