Petition to allow SPS teachers to attend graduations
Seattle Public Schools scheduled 2pm downtown graduations for Garfield, Roosevelt, and Franklin but canceled an early-release plan, forcing teachers to remain on campus. - Graduations are milestone celebrations where teachers who mentored and supported students deserve to be present to congratulate and be recognized. - Petition asks for reinstating early release, arranging Central Office staff to cover classrooms, or other solutions so teachers can attend 2pm ceremonies.

Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival Results
Garfield music students participated in the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival in Moscow, ID. This festival had participants from the wider PNW and roughly 70 groups from various schools performing for adjudication.
"Garfield sent 103 students and 8 ensembles, and every student showed up to support one another. We were our own cheerleaders, and it was special to witness. It reminded me—and the rest of our music team—why Garfield is such an incredible school to teach at. We carry our unique vibe and energy with us wherever we go, and it’s infectious in the best possible way. The world needs more of what our kids have to offer."
Vocal Performance Winner: Madeline Alviar (11th)
Division 1 Winners: Ultraviolet (Vocal Jazz 1) , Jazz Ensemble 1, Jazz Ensemble 2
