Dear Friends

A special thanks to Erik Thurmond for leading us in a super fun and inspiring Prayer in Motion class this week! Erik reminded us of the incredible gift God has given us in our bodies, these bodies that move, breathe, stretch, dance, and praise.

Scripture teaches that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and Erik helped us explore how we can pray not only with our words, but with our whole selves.

We talked about the privilege it is to move, and how maintaining the “temple” God has entrusted to us is part of our spiritual life. Through movement, gratitude, and joy, we practiced using our bodies as a form of prayer.

If you have a skill, craft, or activity you’d like to share with the group, whether it’s art, movement, music, building, baking, or anything in between, please let me know! It truly takes a village to raise our youth, and we’d love for you to be part of that village.

Peace,

Luke

Youth News

High School Bible Study

Wednesday, December 10th

(2nd Wednesday of Each Month)

6:00-7:30

It was great being with the four youth who were able to make it to Bible study on Wednesday Night! Chef Sam cooked a delicious Asian cuisine and we had a rich discussion about Jesus Healing on the Sabbath. The next Y'all Saints' Bible Study, Dec. 10th, from 6:00–7:30 PM, the 2nd Wednesday of each month so you can go ahead and mark it on the calendar. We will meet in the lobby of Ellis Hall before attending Wednesday Night Supper.

If you're in high school, come join us for a relaxed, meaningful space to explore your faith. We might read scripture, watch a movie, and more as a way to dive into our faith. We will uncover the themes and messages together, all while building community. This group is a quieter, more reflective alternative to Sunday night programming. If you're looking to go a little deeper in your faith journey, this is for you!

Georgia Tech Parking lot Fundraiser

November 22nd

Time TBD

We’re running it back! Kick-off is still TBD, but as soon as it’s announced, I’ll send out both the details and the Sign-Up Genius link. A pilgrimage update will be coming your way soon as well! It was awesome having nine youth help with parking at our last fundraiser. We’d love to see all of you again, and we’d love to welcome some new faces too!

The youth are hosting another parking lot fundraiser to support our international pilgrimage this summer. If you’re heading to the Georgia Tech home game vs. Syracuse, come park at All Saints! We’ll be selling parking spots for $40.

These parking lot fundraisers are a great way to contribute financially to make the trip possible. The funds knock the price for pilgrimage for those who are able to volunteer during the fundraiser. If you're going to the game park at All Saints' and tell a friend!

Volunteer Opportunity

To help build stronger connections and make this year meaningful for our youth, I’ve put together a Sign-Up Genius and a Google Doc with a variety of ways you can get involved in youth ministry. The Google Doc lists all the volunteer roles—please check the boxes for anything you're comfortable signing up for. The Sign-Up Genius includes specific dates and time slots for each opportunity.

Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or looking to jump in for the first time, there’s something for everyone:

Volunteer Roles Available:

  • Provide Dinner for Sunday Night Youth Group (SNL & Y'all Saints'): Help feed our hungry youth by cooking, ordering, or bringing dinner. Fan favorites include Moe’s and Papa John’s Pizza—always a hit! Please note you do not have to bring a separate dinner for SNL and Y'all Saints, because we all eat together!

  • Sunday Formation Teacher: Join a team of volunteers to lead Sunday morning formation. Don’t worry—you won’t be doing it alone. We’re building a team-based structure to make it collaborative and low-pressure, even for first-time teachers.

  • Sunday Greeters (Morning and Evening): A warm hello makes all the difference. Greeters help our youth feel seen and welcomed as they arrive for programming.

  • Drivers & Chaperones for Local Outings: Occasionally, we’ll head off-site for events like bowling, laser tag, Braves games, or other local activities. We’re looking for adults willing to drive and actively participate—whether that means scoring strikes or just being a supportive presence.

  • Retreat Drivers & Chaperones: If you’re able to spend a weekend away, we’d love to have you join us as a chaperone or driver. It’s a chance to connect deeply with our youth and experience God’s presence in new ways.

  • Home Gathering Hosts: We’re looking for hosts willing to open their homes for small-group gatherings, game nights, or seasonal celebrations. You choose what you’re comfortable hosting.

  • Letter Writing: Help send notes and flyers to members in our community

We’re looking forward to an amazing year together, and I’m so grateful for your time, support, and energy as we continue building a meaningful youth community!

Our Diocese and All Saints' take seriously the safety of all our children. If you volunteer with Children or Youth, you must take the Safeguarding God's Children training.

To take the online training - just go to Safe Church Training, check out the dates available, and sign up!

Even if you don't work with Children or Youth, you are encouraged to get trained - the more we know, the safer our kids are.

The Diocese of Atlanta does Zoom training also and you can sign up for one of these.
