Join Us for a Training About How Your Form 990 Can Make a Difference for Your Organization

The Community Foundation of Sarasota County is hosting an upcoming training for nonprofit leaders that is focused on Form 990 and why it matters for your organization beyond your annual filing requirements. Led by Caroline Root and Mark Murphy of Kerkering, Barberio & Co., the session will offer an approachable, practical look at Form 990 and help attendees better understand what the 990 communicates about their organization and how to use it more strategically.

What will be covered:

  • Why the 990 matters
  • A guided walkthrough of key sections of the form
  • What your financial and organizational data says about your nonprofit
  • Common mistakes nonprofits make
  • Governance roles and responsibilities
  • How to use the 990 as a communications and marketing tool

Whether you work directly with the 990 or simply want to better understand the story it tells, you’ll leave with practical insights and actionable takeaways that can strengthen your organization’s transparency, governance, and public profile.
