Prince William County School Division’s Middle School Principal Lisa A. Warner has been named the 2026 Outstanding Middle School Principal of Virginia by a panel of principals and superintendents representing the Principal Awards Committee of the Virginia Association of Secondary School Principals (VASSP). The VASSP Principal of the Year Program recognizes exemplary school leaders who demonstrate strong instructional leadership, meaningful collaboration, and a sustained commitment to student success.

Warner has served as principal since 2018 and leads a school community of about 1,200 students and 130 staff. Under her leadership, Marsteller Middle School has earned statewide distinction in academic achievement, school culture, and student outcomes—including recognition as the only middle school in Prince William County to receive statewide distinguished status in 2025.

VASSP Awards Committee Chair Dr. Carol Robinson stated, “Ms. Warner provides a school culture and climate that motivates students, challenges teachers, and welcomes parents.” Prince William County School Superintendent Dr. LaTanya D. McDade, added, “Outstanding schools are built on strong leadership, and Lisa Warner demonstrates that every day at Marsteller Middle School. This VASSP honor reflects her commitment to collaboration, excellence, and student success. We are PWCS Proud to recognize her leadership and the positive impact she has on our school community.”

Warner will represent Virginia in the National Association of Secondary School Principals' (NASSP) 2026 National Principal of the Year Program.
