Back to School Starts With the Whole Family

August is National Wellness Month, and it also happens to be the time when many families are shifting back into school mode.

We spend a lot of energy getting our kids ready; supplies, schedules, new teachers, new routines. But this transition affects the whole family, and parents and caregivers need a little room to reset too.

Wellness doesn’t have to mean adding one more thing to the to-do list. Sometimes it’s getting sleep back on track, taking a walk together, putting the phones down for a bit, reconnecting over dinner, or simply checking in and asking, “How are we doing?”

As we head into a new school year, start small. Build on what already works for your family. And remember that healthy routines aren’t about getting everything perfect; they’re about creating a little more connection, predictability, and breathing room for everyone.

This back-to-school season, don’t forget to put family wellness on the list.
