Dear Gretchen,

Halfway through the Summer and it's been a scorcher!

Are your ready? Its almost that time for the DVBA's Annual Bowling Tournament! Will your team bring home the bragging rights this year? Where else can you wear those goofy shoes; drink beer and politely trash talk your competition, but in a bowling alley!!

You don't want to miss out - so sign-up today!

Calling all Volunteers!

The DVBA has been awarded a 2nd Year Boys & Girls Club Grant and we're taking last years program to the Boys & Girls Club of Indio this August. Join us on August 12th & 13th as we work with over 100 kids/youth to introduce them to the construction industry, through hands on demonstrations of tools, builds (birdhouses and cornhole boards) and share the opportunities as we continue to promote the availability of careers within the building and trade industries. We are in need of onsite volunteers (full and half day); as well as nominal donations to assist in making this project a success. Interested in more details - contact the DVBA office at 760-776-7001.

We're also continuing to promote our PWB Women's Scholarship fund, in partnership with Girl Friend Factor, so please join us on Thursday, September 18th at 5:30 pm at the beautiful WDC Kitchen & Bath in La Quinta for a fun networking event with both organizations in support of this scholarship. All proceeds for the evening will go into the scholarship fund.

Our July Networking Night event showcased DVBA Member CET and their expanded programs in continuing to provide trade contracting certification programs - now with electrical opportunities for those interested in that field of work. Be sure to check out their website at:  Coachella, CA - Center for Employment Training for all the industry fields they provide. Check out the pictures to see how their expansion of facilities will enable them to better serve students in developing the trade skills needed for today's workforce.

Sincerely,

Gretchen Gutierrez

Chief Executive Officer, DVBA

Enroll by June 1 to grab a $75 bill credit, earn up to $40 more in seasonal credits, and score a $30 rebate when you recycle your old thermostat.
