In the fall, we adjusted how exams were administered by having classroom teachers proctor their own exams in their own classrooms. The student and teacher response to this change was overwhelmingly positive. We will administer Senior exams this way in the spring as well in order to provide the best testing experience for our students. Facilitating this change requires some adjustments to our school schedule during the week of April 28th, however.
For three days (April 29th through May 1st), Tampa Catholic High School will adopt a modified block schedule. This exciting opportunity will allow our senior teachers to administer their own exams in their own classrooms and underclass teachers and students to experience the benefits of a block schedule, including extended class time for labs and other hands-on learning experiences. Underclass students will have the same amount of instructional time in each class period as they do in a typical week; the time will be spread out differently.
Please note the following calendar changes that impact SENIOR EXAMS and our SCHOOL-WIDE SCHEDULE during the week of April 28th. These changes should be reflected in our school calendar found online as well. More information about Senior exams will be published in the coming weeks.

| | Building Bridges: Tampa Catholic and Guadalupe Regional MS Strengthen Yearlong Pen Pal Partnership | | The Hispanic Honor Society Prayer Pen Pal Club recently received a thoughtful package from Guadalupe Regional Middle School in Brownsville, Texas, filled with greetings, cultural items, treats, and blessings. In return, we sent a Valentine’s Day package with cards and goodies. Throughout the year, we've shared prayers, interests, celebrations, and well wishes. As we send our final care package, we reflect on the blessing of this partnership, now in its second year, between Tampa Catholic and Guadalupe Regional MS honors students. | | |
TC Students Make a Difference with
Angling for Relief
| | Angling for Relief, a nonprofit organization that provides fishing programs for children battling cancer, recently hosted a special event at the St. Petersburg Pier. A big shoutout to TC students Mason Bridges, Matthew Maroney, and Gianni Rivera, who volunteered their time to help these children—and their siblings—learn to fish. Their participation was inspired by Ms. Masters, who encouraged them to get involved. Thank you, Ms. Masters! | | |
Tampa Catholic Golf Team Volunteers at
Upper Deck Golf Event
| | |
This past weekend, Head Golf Coach Rick Silva and the Tampa Catholic Golf Team took part in a unique volunteer opportunity at Upper Deck Golf at Raymond James Stadium. What started as a few players and coaches signing up quickly grew into 24 Crusaders—players, coaches, and families—volunteering together for a dedicated six-hour shift.
Upper Deck Golf brings a one-of-a-kind golfing experience to some of the nation’s most iconic stadiums and proudly supports Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C) as its official charity. We are proud of our Crusaders for giving back and making a difference both on and off the course!
| | “Don’t let your left hand know what you right is doing.” Mt 6:3 These words from our Lord are very counter-cultural. Too often we are tempted to believe that the affirmation of others is part of the formula for doing good. As if the best credit for the good we do is the acknowledgement and praise others extend us. Yet in this Gospel verse, Jesus reassures that a good deed done in secret is a gift to our Father in Heaven. He has repayment far superseding what the world can offer. As a spiritual bonus, in sacrificing the awareness of others, we are actually increasing in humility. What a transformative virtue we could all increase in! May this litany help us on the journey. | | |
