No roadwork planned over Memorial Day weekend
Watch for the possibility of increased traffic on Missouri roads
While summertime is generally viewed as a time to kick back and enjoy life, it’s not a time to relax when on the road.

Memorial Day marks the beginning of the 100 Deadliest Days of Summer.

Last year, there were 291 fatalities in the 100 days between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Traffic on Missouri roads could see an increase this weekend, as many drivers may be getting out on the road for the first time in weeks.

MoDOT urges all who travel in and around the Show-Me State this summer to buckle up, slow down, drive sober and never drive distracted.

May 21, 1819 - The first bicycles in the United States made their debut in New York City. Those bicycles, actually known as “velocipedes” or “swift walkers,” were based on two-wheeled steerable machines that had been designed by Germany’s Baron Karl von Drais and patented just the previous year. Commission meeting dates
The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission announced dates and locations for its monthly meetings for the remainder of 2020. Some changes are being made to the schedule d ue to the COVID-19 pandemic. Specific meeting details will be released closer to the date of each meeting. Read more .
