Future Entrepreneurs Camp Kicks Off with Energy and Purpose

This month, Lehigh Carbon Community College proudly partnered with Northampton Community College and the Fé Foundation to support the 2025 Futuros Empresarios (Future Entrepreneurs) Program. The weeklong summer camp, held July 13–18, brought together high school sophomores and juniors for an experience of learning, leadership, and growth.

The program started with a residential camp on the LCCC and Northampton campuses, where students dove into life skills, academic preparation, and entrepreneurial training. Participants demonstrated both passion and eagerness, evidence of the impact this program has on high school students.

Now in its fifth year, this unique opportunity offers more than just classroom lessons. Students will continue their journey with a four-week internship at local businesses, giving them real-world experience that sets them apart.

Applications for this competitive program opened earlier this spring. Students were selected through essays, interviews, and academic review. The program concludes with a special graduation ceremony that honors their achievements and celebrates the experiences gained along the way.

LCCC Launches Leadership Success Series to Strengthen Lehigh Valley Workforce

Lehigh Carbon Community College is excited to launch its new Workforce Leadership Series in the Fall 2025 semester. A dynamic opportunity designed for professionals looking to advance their careers and strengthen their leadership skills. The training will help workers be prepared to lead in today’s evolving workplace and learn to effectively manage teams, drive change, and influence organizational success.

Developed through LCCC’s Center for Workforce Development, the Leadership Success Series addresses the region’s growing demand for effective, future-focused and innovative leaders. LCCC’s Leadership Success Series provides a transformational training experience designed to grow leaders at every level, from first-time supervisors to seasoned executives. This series delivers a complete leadership journey built around real-world challenges, interactive simulations, one-on-one coaching, and certificates.

The four-tiered series is designed for supervisors, mid-level managers and senior executives, offering a stackable credential pathway that allows learners to grow with their careers:

  • Level 1: Foundations of Leadership– For new or first-time supervisors building foundational leadership skills.
  • Level 2: Emerging Leaders Program– For growing leaders who want to expand their influence and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Level 3: Advanced Leadership Development– For mid-level managers focused on strategic leadership and driving organizational change.
  • Level 4: Executive Leadership Mastery– For senior executives and directors looking to lead with innovation, vision, and inclusive strategy.

Each course consists of 24 hours of instruction and offers an LCCC certificate and digital badge upon completion. These credentials help professionals showcase their leadership competencies to employers and peers, reinforcing their readiness to lead in complex and evolving environments. Participants will explore topics such as emotional intelligence, performance management, strategic problem-solving, inclusive leadership, and digital transformation, all aligned with industry best practices and employer needs.

“We’ve designed this program to be transformational, not just informational,” said Doni Binczak, Program Manager at LCCC’s Center for Workforce Development. “Our goal is to support leaders at all levels with tools they can apply immediately to strengthen their teams and achieve measurable results.”

Classes will be held in both Schnecksville and Tamaqua locations, with flexible scheduling available for working professionals. Organizations can also partner with LCCC to offer customized leadership training for their teams. Second Annual PA Leadership Forum Held at LCCC

Lehigh Carbon Community College hosted the 2nd Annual PA Leadership Forum on July 9, in partnership with BloomBoard and IU21. This statewide convening brought together educational leaders to explore innovative solutions for strengthening Pennsylvania’s teacher pipeline and building capacity across the K-12 workforce.

LCCC was represented on two of the forum’s morning panels. Elizabeth Shope, Assistant Professor and Special Projects Coordinator, participated in the “Pathways for Adults: How do programs build capacity and community?” session. She highlighted LCCC’s collaborative work with BloomBoard, school districts, and intermediate units to support paraprofessionals through job-embedded, flexible degree pathways that integrate academic coursework, mentorship, and classroom experience.
