Dear Friends,

Spring brings a sense of renewal, hope, and possibility; feelings we witness every day through the families we serve. At Angel Flight NE, every mission is more than transportation. It is not simply a transaction, it is transformational. It is access to care, peace of mind, and the reassurance that no patient has to make the journey alone.

Pictured is volunteer pilot John W. with mom Carrie and 16-year-old patient Sophia on their Angel Flight mission to Boston from NY, where Sophia received specialized treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for her rare disease.

As we welcome the month of May, we are proud to share a few recent missions that remind us why distance should never be a barrier to lifesaving medical care. Thanks to our volunteer pilots, aviation partners JetBlue and Cape Air, generous supporters, and our mission coordination team, hope continues to take flight each and every day.

Warmly,

The Angel Flight NE Team

Family, Courage, and Hope.

Last week, volunteer pilot Myung flew 7-year-old Liliana, alongside her brother Lucien and father Stephen, on an Angel Flight NE mission from New York to UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, where Liliana is receiving specialized care following a kidney transplant. Their smiles say it all, behind every mission is a family finding hope, comfort, and support during an uncertain time.

At Angel Flight Northeast, we know that when one patient travels, an entire family is often on the journey alongside them.

Flying the Distance, Thanks to Our JetBlue Partnership

When specialized care requires travel beyond the reach of our volunteer pilot network, Angel Flight Northeast is proud to partner with JetBlue to help bridge the distance.

Through donated seats and thoughtful accommodations from JetBlue’s incredible team, patients and families are able to access critical medical treatment safely, comfortably, and with dignity.

Recently, Aviva began her journey with Angel Flight NE as we coordinated travel from Boston to Washington D.C. for specialty care related to Gaucher disease, a rare genetic disorder. From arranging donated flights to coordinating accessibility accommodations, our team worked to ensure a smooth and comfortable travel experience from start to finish.

We are honored to welcome Aviva and her family into the Angel Flight NE family. Stories like hers are a reminder that our mission takes many forms, from volunteer pilots in private aircraft to commercial airline partners stepping forward to help families reach the care they need.

Together, we make sure distance is never the reason care is out of reach and that no family has to make the journey alone.

This weekend, we celebrate the incredible mothers, grandmothers, caregivers, and mother figures who lead with unwavering love, strength, and compassion.

At Angel Flight NE, we are privileged to witness the devotion of mothers every day, traveling beside their children for treatment, advocating fiercely for their families, and carrying hope through even the most difficult journeys.

To all the amazing moms in our Angel Flight NE family, patients, caregivers, volunteers, supporters, and friends; we celebrate you and wish you a beautiful Mother’s Day filled with love.
