This past week, Caledonia Nordic Ski Club was proud to once again host a fantastic biathlon event, bringing together three major competitions: the IBU Regional Event, Biathlon Canada Western Canadian Championships, and the Odlum Brown BC Championships.
Athletes travelled from across Canada — and even from the United States — to compete on our trails. It was an exciting few days of racing and community, and the event received some truly wonderful feedback from athletes, coaches, and officials who appreciated both the venue and the incredible effort behind the scenes.
Events of this scale only happen because of the dedication of so many people. A huge thank you goes to our Organizing Committee, our AMAZING volunteers, and our hardworking grooming and snowmaking team, who quite literally helped bring winter back just in time for the event.
We are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and commitment that so many members of our community contributed to make this weekend such a success. Events like this showcase what makes Caledonia Nordic so special.
Thank you to everyone who helped make it happen!

As we all know, Spring has arrived, and some of the best skiing of the season is happening right now at Caledonia Nordic. I had a fantastic ski on Saturday that was not impacted by the race at all. Had I not come to see the event, I would not have known a race was happening.
Thanks to a strong base and an excellent manmade loop, skiing remains available. There is still good snow on so many of our trails, and our grooming team will continue working each day to keep conditions in the best shape possible.
As with any spring season, conditions will follow the classic cycle: firm and icy in the mornings, softening through the day, and refreezing overnight. Our groomers will do their best to manage these changing conditions and keep trails safe and enjoyable. Always watch the Grooming Report for updates.
To make it easier to get out and enjoy these great conditions, we are launching our Annual March Madness.
If you have been purchasing day tickets whenever the skiing looks good, now is the perfect time to switch. March Madness offers 50% off a season membership for the remainder of the season, allowing you to ski whenever the mood strikes without purchasing a day pass each visit. That is just SIX visits!
Spring skiing is special. Sunny days, fast mornings, and soft afternoon laps make this time of year unique.
Take advantage of the March Madness offer and come enjoy the trails while the snow is still here. Discount Code: MARCHMADNESS2026

We have officially reached the final week of the Grand Tour. Thank you to everyone who has been getting out on the trails and taking part throughout the season. It has been great to see so many members exploring the network and enjoying the challenge each week.
As we move into spring conditions, please note that the course may change throughout the week depending on trail and snow conditions. Keep an eye on updates so you know where to go for your Grand Tour lap.
Congratulations to our Week 5 winners:
- Bobbi Butcher
- Stephen Duck
- Scott Forrest
A big thank you to Booster Juice, Stride & Glide Sports, and Tourism Prince George for their generous prize donations that help make the Grand Tour even more fun.
We would also like to recognize our incredible Grand Tour volunteers, who are out on the trails every week adjusting routes, reworking sections, rewriting descriptions and making sure the experience is fun and accessible for everyone. Their commitment and creativity are what keep the Grand Tour running smoothly throughout the season.
Get out for the final week, enjoy the trails, and finish the Grand Tour strong.

This season has presented its fair share of challenges. From extreme cold temperatures to tricky grooming conditions, icy trails, and even rain, it has required constant flexibility and creativity to keep our programs running. Through it all, our Skills Development Program coaching team has been outstanding.
Our coaches have continuously adapted by adjusting session times, modifying activities, and even shifting from skiing to snowshoeing and back again when conditions required it. Their commitment to ensuring athletes still had positive, engaging experiences on the trails has made a tremendous difference throughout the season.
A special thank you to Lanita and Nicole for organizing another fantastic Torchlight Ski, which continues to be a highlight for many of our athletes.
We would also like to recognize the older athletes who stepped in to support our groups, helping mentor younger skiers and creating a strong sense of community within the program.
Finally, a huge thank you to Belinda for the incredible amount of work she puts into coordinating the program and communicating with coaches and families. Her organization and clear communication ensure everyone stays informed and supported as decisions are made throughout the season.
Despite the challenges, this team has helped make the Skills Development Program a wonderful experience for our athletes. We are incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and care that each of you brings to the program.

Thank You to Hart Save-On-Foods
| |
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Hart Save-On-Foods for their continued support of our Skills Development Program.
Each year we reach out to local partners to help enhance the experience for our young athletes, and for the past three seasons, Hart Save-On-Foods has generously stepped up to provide cookies, oranges, and drinks for our participants.
For many of the kids, the snack break is one of the highlights of the day. After a great session on the trails, gathering together to enjoy a treat with their teammates is something they truly look forward to each week.
We greatly appreciate the support from Hart Save-On-Foods and their commitment to helping create positive experiences for the young skiers in our community.

Another Personal Thank You to the
Caledonia Nordic Volunteer Team

Over the years, I have been fortunate to be part of several clubs across the country, but the Caledonia Nordic community truly stands out.
So many members of this community step forward to support the club in meaningful ways. Volunteers help deliver club events, Winterfest, Family Day, Brewski, races including XC BC Cup races, Biathlon Western Championships, and the Grand Tour. Others dedicate their time to coaching athletes from age 3 through 20+ (and even masters), contributing to facility improvements (have you seen the new stairs?), assisting with snowmaking, and serving on our Board of Directors, where important decisions are made to guide the future of the club.
We even have volunteers who step forward to support our volunteers — helping coordinate roles, organize events, and ensure the many people giving their time feel welcomed and appreciated. That kind of culture says a great deal about this club.
Our club exists and continues to grow because of the time, energy, and passion that volunteers bring to Caledonia Nordic. Quite simply, our club is built on the strength of our volunteers.
To everyone who has stepped up this season and in years past, thank you. Your contributions make this club what it is. You are all truly amazing, and we deeply appreciate everything you do.
