From Your Administrative Team

Greetings Families,

We first want to recognize that the horrific tragedies playing out on a global scale amid the Israeli-Palestine conflict are impacting members of our community in profound ways. Our school community is steadfast in our unwavering commitment to inclusivity, empathy, and safety for all members of our community. We'd like to share resources on how to support children when the news is scary and Sesame Street's collection of resources on how to talk to kids about violence, in hopes that they feel helpful.

Happy Filipino American History Month! Check out this resource from Google to explore the rich culture and history of Filipino Americans in the U.S.

We will be participating in the Great Shakeout by participating in Earthquake Drills on Campus on 10/19 and 10/24. Teachers will support students in practicing Drop, Cover, and Hold and evacuation procedures with the support of the rest of our team.

Mark your calendars! The next Coffee with Kaitlin and Robin in happening on campus Monday 10/30 and Friday 11/3 after morning drop off. Come to connect, learn more about each other and our community, and bring any wonderings you might have!

Finally, we are so excited to see you on campus during Student Led Conferences! On Monday the 16th, we will also be pushing out surveys to both students and parents--your feedback is invaluable, and we appreciate any time you can give to sharing your feedback in this way!

Enjoy Your Weekend,

Kaitlin (She/Her) and Robin (She/Her)

Student Led Conferences are one of our favorite signature practices across Da Vinci Schools! These mandatory conferences are one of the ways we put students in the driver's seat, and allow them to share with the adults around them the things that feel successful about their learning, what it feels like to be a student through their eyes, and an opportunity to share what they need from us! You will hear soon from your classroom with additional details, including sign ups, in the coming days!

LA County Library Bookmark Contest!

Design a bookmark for LA County Library--due 10/21
