Dear GLOBE community,
I’m pleased to announce that yesterday we acquired a significant plot of land that will expand GLOBE’s Upper Campus. This new land, comprising three adjacent lots at the southwest corner of Briarcliff and Shallowford Roads, will allow us to expand our campus and pursue meaningful growth opportunities for the years to come.
The current footprint of GLOBE’s Upper Campus limits us in many ways, from parking to outdoor space to classrooms. Since we purchased the Upper Campus, school and Board leadership have monitored the real estate market for opportunities to alleviate some of these constraints.
When these lots went up for sale, GLOBE’s Board of Directors swiftly and judiciously weighed whether to pursue a purchase, determined the real estate represented a rare opportunity, and secured the land.
In the upcoming months, the school leadership team, Facilities Committee, and Board will carefully consider the best use of this land, ensuring that it advances the interests of our community and aligns with our strategic plan. We will keep you apprised as decisions are made, and in the meantime, we have anticipated some questions you may have and answered them below.
