Lent is a strange and tender season, isn’t it? Joy and sorrow, love and loss, heartbreak and hope—woven together in the fabric of our lives. This year, we invite you to step into Lent just as you are—raw, honest, and open. This is not a season for pretending we have it all together. It’s a sacred pause, a time to sit with what feels fragile and unfinished, and to let God meet us in our most vulnerable places.
Lent begins this week with Ash Wednesday. You’re invited to receive ashes at your convenience or join us for a full worship service with communion and the imposition of ashes (see below).
Throughout Lent, our weekly worship will follow the lectionary texts as we “bury the alleluias,” renew our commitment to God through confession, and seek the presence of God in every part of our lives.
We also encourage you to deepen your Lenten journey with a daily devotion guide and an opportunity to join a discussion group (see below).
This year’s resources come from Kate Bowler—a four-time New York Times bestselling author, award-winning podcast host, Professor of Religious History at Duke University, and, above all, a fellow seeker of grace in the midst of life’s complexity.
Come as you are. Let’s embrace Lent together.
Blessings,
Your pastors and staff
