This Giving Tuesday, we are asking for your help to continue empowering the next generation of carpenters in Washington, DC. Before the end of the year, all donations will be matched by ZCAF sponsors dollar-for-dollar, up to $50,000.
As a nonprofit organization, every dollar Zenith Community Arts Foundation receives goes directly towards supporting our programs, whose costs include materials and tools for students, salaries for our qualified instructors, and maintenance of our Mobile Woodshop classroom.
We are now in the third year of the Pre-Apprenticeship Carpentry Training (PACT) program at Ballou STAY Opportunity Academy in Ward 8, where over 30 young men and women have developed technical skills, experienced the satisfaction of completing difficult projects, and improved their employability skills. In January 2024, a second school at Luke C Moore HS in Ward 5 will experience the power of PACT. We are excited about the changes that our program is making in our students’ lives.
