November 2021 Newsletter

A Month to Expand AWARENESS

Halloween ushers us into the holiday season, with many festivities which are rooted in cultural or religious significance and traditions. The diversity of our staff mirrors our student and family population which enables our students to bond with an adult they can relate to in order to support their success.

I encourage you and your children to learn about a holiday in November or December to increase your cultural intelligence or cultural quotient (CQ). Increasing your CQ can improve your relationships with neighbors, coworkers, and ultimately enables us to be better global citizens. Regardless of how or what you choose to celebrate, I hope this season brings you happiness!

We are well into the holidays. Hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween. As daylight savings approaches the days will start to get darker earlier. We encourage parents to keep open communication with their students as sometimes we fall into the “Winter Blues”.

November 6th is International Stress Awareness Day. Here is a link to a great tool for parents to use if their students are experiencing stress. Please have safe and wonderful holidays! As always please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.

Pine Hill School Panthers

In order to keep our students safe, we offer AVERT training to our staff. As part of the training, our staff learn how to respond to emergencies and threats. We hope to never have to use these techniques at our school but we're glad our staff are well prepared to protect our students. A Big THANK YOU to Mr. Anthony for being an AVERT trainer and playing the role of intruder for our training class.

Pine Hill School is now on social media! Follow us for the latest!

Backpack Give Away 2021

THANK YOU to the CA-NV Moose Association for your generous donation to our students!

The students of Newton had a very special visitor. Tommy the Moose, from the California-Nevada Moose Association, came to the school and brought each of our students a backpack full of goodies!

The backpacks held some school supplies, like notebooks, pencil bags, markers, rulers, and calculators. They also had adorable, stuffed Tommy the Moose dolls for each student. The Moose Association is a wonderful organization that helps children and the elderly all over the United States.

The students were so excited to see Tommy the Moose and were thrilled with the gift of the backpacks. The smiles on their faces were a joy to see.
Thank you for your support!
