| Get Ready to Bid: EIP 2026 | |
Dear AL Community,
An Evening in Paris: Cirque is just around the corner, and with it comes one of the most exciting parts of the event—our auctions. Both the silent and the live auction will return this year, each its own unique experience.
Silent Auction (Open to Everyone!)
The silent auction opens on Friday, May 1 at noon and closes on Saturday, May 2 at 9:00 pm. This auction is open to everyone—no ticket or affiliation with Académie Lafayette is required. Families, friends, and community members are all welcome to register and bid. Items include class projects and baskets, experiences, gift cards, community events, and more. It is a great way to support our school from anywhere.
Live Auction (Event Night Only)
The live auction will take place during An Evening in Paris. To participate, you must be present at the event. This portion of the evening features exclusive, high-value items such as the Survivor experience, a MasterChef dinner, ALIHS monthly dinners for a year, a KC Chiefs experience, and more—all brought to life through the energy of live bidding.
Digital items will be emailed to winners. Winners of physical items will need to arrange pickup at the Armour campus the week of 5/4. Items can also be delivered locally to your door for a $10 donation!
Both auctions play an important role in supporting Académie Lafayette; proceeds from Evening in Paris go directly to the Annual Fund, supporting our schools and expanding opportunities for our students. We encourage everyone to participate in the silent auction and, if you are attending the event, to join in the excitement of the live auction.
Volunteer Opportunities
Events like this are only possible because of our incredible community. We are currently seeking volunteers to help make the evening a success. If you are available to support, please consider signing up!
A bientôt!

We are grateful to share a positive update on the H-1B visa renewal delays impacting two of our elementary teachers: one of these teachers has officially returned to the classroom this week! This progress truly reflects the strength of our community’s support and advocacy.
The second teacher’s renewal remains in process, and while we do not yet have a confirmed timeline, we continue working closely with Senator Eric Schmitt’s office. Their team has been responsive and helpful in moving these cases forward, and we are thankful for their partnership as we remain hopeful for more good news soon.

Parent Academy: Language Immersion — Navigating Languages & Connecting Cultures | |
Whether you are just starting out at AL or are a veteran parent, join us on May 6 at 5:30 pm at the Cherry campus (3421 Cherry St) for a presentation titled Language Immersion: Navigating Languages and Connecting Cultures. This event will highlight how immersion supports strong literacy development across languages and fosters global mindedness in our students, from students learning to read and write in an immersion setting, the strategies that support bilingual literacy, and how learning in two languages builds cultural awareness, empathy, and confidence in a diverse world.
A highlight of the evening will be a panel of AL alumni who will share how their immersion experience shaped their academic journeys and broadened their global perspectives. Their stories are a powerful reminder of the long-term value of a multilingual education. Dinner will be provided from 5 to 5:30 pm. Please click here to RSVP so we can plan accordingly. We hope to see you there!
