DECEMBER 2025 NEWSLETTER

Happy December ~

It's that final month of 2025 - the one that flies by in a rush of holiday parties, festive decorations, nighttime lights, end-of-year deadlines, work reviews, holiday music, and hopeful thoughts as we enter the New Year.

It's also a month to celebrate in whatever tradition you may choose. I strive to cultivate daily gratitude for all the blessings in my life, but this month holds a special significance.

I'm celebrating a local professional and her annual Senior Significance Project. Kelly Merbler began this project to honor her Mom and the Memory Care facility that cared for her. Kelly and I both lost our Moms to Alzheimer's, and my older sister also succumbed to the disease. This annual effort requires a tremendous amount of planning and volunteers. Kelly gathers wish lists from area facilities, posts on Amazon for donors to order needed gifts, and organizes a huge wrapping party (52 volunteers wrapped over 300 gifts this year) and arranges the subsequent deliveries to the residents - this year at 12 facilities. The photo above is of Kelly and me at the Party. A fantastic expression of love and kindness, letting residents know that they are not forgotten at this special time of year. This is my favorite event of the year. Thank you, Kelly! Check into Kelly's full-time job as a leadership expert and keynote speaker.

What does December mean to you? Many of us are looking forward to some time off, while others are still searching for new jobs. Try to focus on kindness, since we often don’t know what others are going through. Sometimes, a smile or a word of encouragement can make all the difference.

Special shoutout to the DWCS Team for all they continue to do to make our services exceptional and recognized.

LinkedIn Tips and More

TIP 1 - NETWORK LIKE NEVER BEFORE

What a great month for networking! Professional organizations, Chambers of Commerce, and local networking groups have something for everyone. Check their websites for events and stay visible during the last month of the year. The week between Christmas and New Year's is a great time to be connecting with new networking leads, and don't forget to reconnect with existing clients and prospects. Be ready for January!

TIP 2 - HOLIDAY GREETINGS

With the option to leave a 1-minute voice message right from your LinkedIn Message center, there's no excuse! Use the mobile app, go to your Message center, select a Connection to message, and tap the tiny microphone icon to the right of the message field. You'll have 60 seconds to record whatever you'd like! NOTE: Release to send; swipe away to re-record. It's a quick and easy way to stay in touch. This is one of my favorite ways to surprise the Connections that aren't aware of this option!

TIP 3 - ARE YOU USING THE LATEST VERSIONS?

If you haven't checked lately, do it now. I've been dealing with a formatting issue in how my profile's About section is displayed. Some see it as a solid block of text; others see it with normal formatting. As I've been working with a LinkedIn tech for over 2 weeks to resolve it, I've learned that many members are not using the latest version of their browser software AND the latest version of LinkedIn software, on both mobile and desktop. It can make a difference in how profiles are displayed to you. Just another end-of-the-year task to add to your list.

TIP 4 - SPECIAL GIFT IDEA

Stumped for what to give the professional woman in your life? I highly recommend a book written by my dear friend, Sunny Simon, Wisdom in Her Wake, available on Amazon. It offers over 50 stories of insights from women who lead, inspire, and uplift others. I loved it! Thank you, Sunny, for including my story - you are a gifted writer. (see pg 276!)
