Again, this month I invite you to be part of our pilot project to open up conversations and connections between WILPF members and national WILPF! Zoom in to talk with me and others on Tuesday, March 2!
As WILPF US President, I want you, our members, to have a chance to freely ask questions and take a little time to talk with me and other members. That’s why we started this exchange opportunity in January, providing a space for unstructured conversation, before and (or) after the monthly evening Program Committee. How many folks will decide to take advantage of this, limited-time chance to get easy and direct answers to your questions?
Join in for the Half-Hours Before and/or After the Program Meeting
As an option, WILPF US members (only) are all welcome to listen in to the Program Committee meeting, which starts at 5 pm PT / 8 pm ET and will continue until about 7 pm PT / 10 pm ET. The Before/After conversations will each be during the half-hour before and after those times, so starting at 4:30 pm PT / 7:30 pm ET and ending about 7:30 pm PT / 10:30 pm ET.
Listening in to the issue committee discussions in the Program Committee may interest you: Hear more about the plans for the August 13-15 and 20-22 WILPF Congress. Learn about the projects of the issue committees. Are you in a branch? Branches are being contacted. If you’re an at-large member, this will be a place to connect! Or call in only for the Before/After Conversations:
- Ask questions,
- Share ideas,
- Talk with other WILPFers nationwide.
If you also want to listen in to the two-hour Program Committee meeting, you can stay on following the Before conversation or sign in ahead of the After conversation. In the Program meetings you’ll learn more about Program 2.0 and our issue work. During the Program meeting, only designated representatives from the issue committees and other program areas will be able to speak. So if you have questions about the functioning and activities of our program work, please ask them in the Before time, or keep track of your questions as you listen in – to ask in the After.
Advance Registration Required!
To get the zoom link for the Before/After conversations and the Program Committee meeting emailed to you,
you must register (even only moments in advance!) Use this
Zoom link to preregister.
You're welcome to sign into the sessions at any point in the conversations and meeting, but we will not formally start until just five minutes before the start time shown above, despite what the registration webpage says!
When you register, you’ll see the meeting ID on the registration webpage. You’ll have to check the confirmation email that you’ll receive after that to find the password information needed to join the meeting. (Please do not post the ID or password to social media or websites.)
Why Call in to Talk/Listen Before and/or After the Program Meeting?
In these Before/After conversations you’ll be able to comment on and/or ask about national and international WILPF. You’ll have the chance to talk with other branch and at-large members, as well as the President and other WILPF US leaders. Additionally, between these two conversations – that welcome the participation of all WILPF members – you may choose to listen in to the Program Committee meeting.
In these Before/After conversations, we’ll –
- ask for your ideas,
- share information about the many ad hoc committees seeking member participation, and
- invite your commitment.
If you’re ready, you can volunteer –
- to join a national committee,
- to be an issue committee contact for your branch, and/or
- to become an issue committee and/or ad hoc committee member!
I hope you can join in one half-hour before and/or one half-hour after the Program Committee meeting, on Tuesday, March 2 – or, if not this month, next month on the first Tuesday! Register now.I look forward to meeting my fellow “WILPFers”. We start the conversations at 4:30 pm PT / 7:30 pm ET and will continue until about 7:30 pm PT / 10:30 pm ET, with the Program meeting in the middle.
Yours for continuing positive change for peace, justice, and sustainability!
