Week of February 18-22, 2019
“The clock is running. Make the most of today.
Time waits for no man. Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift.
That's why we call it the present." Alice Morse Earle

Dear Southern Door Community,
So much to celebrate in the "present" - great things are happening! Hats off to our swimmers and wrestlers on their advancing in competition and to our basketball teams who will soon begin those playoff journeys. Even though this this tends to be a time where the light shines on our co-curricular programs, let us not forget the other important, day-to-day accomplishments here at Southern Door. From their work in the classroom, social interactions, and service outreach activities, our students here in the District are striving for excellence each and every day! And don't forget - they couldn't do it without our talented, hard working staff who support them every step of the way.

As we conclude the celebration of Wisconsin's "I Love My Public School" Week, we continue to strive for every student feeling valued, safe, welcomed, confident, happy, and most of all, loved enough to know that the heart of our school cannot beat without them! Together with students, families and community, we are Eagle Strong and Eagle Proud!

SOUTHERN DOOR TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL FFA WEEK
Founded in 1928, the Future Farmers of America brought together students, teachers and agribusinesses to solidify support for agricultural education. The National FFA Organization provides leadership, personal growth and career success training through agricultural education. Today, there are 669,989 FFA members, aged 12-21, in 8,630 chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Southern Door currently has 50 FFA members. In addition to special activities they have planned in our high school, like a milk moustache contest, plunger races, and calf bottle chugging contests, the district will join in with a few school spirit days. (see This Coming Week above). We thank our Southern Door FFA members and the Southern Door FFA Alumni for all their efforts to promote leadership development, community service, and the agriscience careers here at our school.
