County Will Host Public Budget Workshops from May 8 to May 13

As part of St. Johns County’s Strategic Plan goal of building community trust, the public is invited to participate in the Budget Workshop Series for Fiscal Year 2026 held May 8 through May 13. All budget workshops will occur at the St. Johns County Administration Building, 500 San Sebastian View, St. Augustine. Each workshop will be broadcast live on the county’s TV channel, GovTV, at www.sjcfl.us/watch-govtv-live. A recording of each workshop is scheduled to be available through video-on-demand on that webpage under the Other Videos Archive within three days of the completion of each workshop.

County Makes Progress on Infrastructure Projects

St. Johns County’s Race Track Road Capital Improvement Project is approximately halfway complete, marking a key milestone in the effort to improve traffic flow and safety along one of the area’s most traveled corridors. The County has also completed major intersection improvements at State Road A1A and Mickler Road in Ponte Vedra Beach, addressing long-standing traffic concerns and preparing the corridor for future growth. County Moves Forward to Draft Economic Incentive Agreement with AdventHealth

During their April 15, 2025, Regular Meeting, the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners approved a request to draft an economic development incentive agreement with AdventHealth to build a 12-bed freestanding emergency department of approximately 13,700 square feet that will create 56 new healthcare jobs in the community and have an estimated $5.5 million economic impact on the local economy.

County Approves Major Expansion of Field of Dreams Baseball

Field of Dreams Baseball, St. Johns County’s disability-friendly baseball field located at Aberdeen Park (1401 Shetland Drive, St. Johns), is set to undergo a major expansion. The project’s $1,513,800 construction contract was approved by the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners at its regular meeting on April 15. To celebrate the start of work on this project, a groundbreaking ceremony will be held at 11:30 a.m. on May 3.

County to Host 22nd Annual Turtletown USA Beach Cleanup

St. Johns County will host the 22nd Annual Turtletown USA Beach Cleanup on Saturday, May 10, from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. and is seeking volunteers to be a part of this legacy event. Over the past two decades, this cleanup has helped remove litter and debris from St. Johns County beaches in preparation for sea turtle nesting season, which begins May 1.

County Celebrates Renovation of Mussallem Beachfront Park with Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony

On April 11, St. Johns County celebrated the renovation of Mussallem Beachfront Park (3365 Coastal Highway, St. Augustine) with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The Office of Public Affairs produced a video to commemorate the event.

The renovation added expanding parking, restrooms, changing rooms, cornhole, a walking trail, and an overlook of the nearby marsh.

News4Jax Visits St. Johns County

On April 4, 2025, St. Johns County hosted the News4Jax newscasts at Veterans Park as a part of their “4 Your Neighborhood” series. The station invited Chair Krista Joseph, District 4, and Commissioner Christian Whitehurst, District 1, to appear on the afternoon newscast to discuss regional parks plans, infrastructure projects, and more. The Office of Public Affairs produced a video to recap the event.
