2021 Birch Golf Classic
Thurs, 9/9/2021
Bellingham Golf & Country Club
Bellingham, WA
The annual Birch Golf Classic is working to raise $300k annually and shine a light on organizations helping people transition from homelessness and human trafficking to better pathways. For the past 4 years the BGC supported Engedi Refuge and Northwest Youth Services.
"Thank you for the incredible support and attention you've given Engedi Refuge these last three years through the Birch Golf Classic events.
What a privilege and honor it has been for us. We are celebrating with you as you continue this great charitable event. The charitable organizations you have selected for the next three-year term are excellent and worthy of your support. Your efforts to bring attention and resources to organizations along the I-5 corridor in Washington that are addressing poverty and the injustice of human trafficking are exemplary and honorable. It is so important for the business community to experience partnership with the social service community. We often feel the separation in our communities of for-profit verses non-profit entities, but Birch Equipment is bringing them together in a powerful way.
Keep up the good work. Much love and appreciation from all of us here at Engedi Refuge!"
-- Aaron Newcomb, Executive Director
With Washington State being one of the most heavily sex trafficked corridors in the U.S., Jake Locker, one of the founding BGC Boards Members, has steered BGC to organizations supporting transitioning and educating businesses and travelers to recoginize and know know how to help. For the next three years, BGC will support these three wonderful organizations:
As financial illiteracy and hopelessness are contributors to living on the streets, BGC is supporting Whatcom Dream, a small but mighty organization reaching hundreds of people annually on a shoe string budget and a huge amount of dedication.
(Businesses Ending Slavery & Trafficking)
Trains businesses and employees how to identify and safely respond to human trafficking.

Optimize Equipment Use On Jobsites |
|
Birch Equipment has fully integrated Telematics with its Streamlined Management System to maximize equipment utilization and simplify tracking and maintenance for customers, so they can focus on project goals, people and jobsite safety.
The data driven technology supports Birch's hands-on service to customers with real-time, remote access to equipment status. Birch can assess hours and fuel levels and offer feedback to customers about utilization, equipment location and diagnostics to support Birch's preventive maintenance programs. The system also eliminates unecessary and costly mobe/demobe, an incredibly useful benefit borne out during the pandemic.
The integrated suite of tracking and reporting technologies is available on both Birch and customer-owned assets.

Whether you want to adopt a dog or cat or just hang out with one sometimes, cat & dog cafes offer both options.
The cafes have a couple of resident animals - and the rest of the pups and felines are up for adoption. Animal rescue organizations supply the animals. The cafes are a new twist on area pet cafes. Here's a list of a few in the area:
