Super Load Traffic Advisory

Second of four extra-large

"super loads" to move to central Ohio

Expect major traffic impacts while convoy is on the move

The thirteenth of nearly two dozen “super loads,” and second of four loads that exceed 900,000 pounds, will depart the dock site in Adams County on Monday, July 8. The convoy will head to New Albany to deliver the load to the site of the new Intel plant in Licking County.


This load, an air processor known as a cold box used in the silicon chip manufacturing process, measures approximately 23’ tall, 20’ wide, 280’ long, and weighs 916,000 pounds.


The move is scheduled to take more than a week. It will make stops in West Portsmouth, Lucasville, Chillicothe, Rickenbacker, Pickerington, and Pataskala, before being delivered on Tuesday, July 16.

July 8 (Day 1) – Dock in Manchester to West Portsmouth (32 miles)

Originates in Adams County, travels into Scioto County

6:00 a.m. Departure (approximate)                                         

  • The load is scheduled to begin moving east on US Route 52
  • The load is expected to cross over and travel the wrong way in the US Route 52 Westbound lanes just before the junction of SR 239 & US Route 52.
  • The load will travel North on the SR 239 Southbound ramp toward SR 73/SR 852

Overnight Location: West Portsmouth


July 9 (Day 2) – West Portsmouth to Lucasville (14 miles)

Originates in and travels through Scioto County

7:45 a.m. Departure (approximate)                                         

  • The load will travel South in the Northbound lanes of SR 73/SR 852 to US Route 52
  • Then it will head East in the Westbound lanes on US Route 52 to US Route 23 in Portsmouth
  • Travel North on US Route 23 in the Northbound lanes to the intersection of Kinneys Lane and Argonne Road where it will cross over into the Northbound lanes toward Lucasville

Overnight Location: ODOT Scioto County Garage


July 10 (Day 3) – ODOT Scioto County Garage to Chillicothe (48 miles)

Originates in Scioto County, travels through Pike County and into Ross County

5:45 a.m. Departure (approximate)                                                                          

  • Travel north on US Route 23 to Piketon where it will cross over into the Southbound lanes of US Route 23 at Market Street to maneuver around the traffic signals then cross back over into the Northbound lanes of US Route 23 
  • Travel North on US Route 23 to Chillicothe
  • Take US Route 35 West to SR 104 North
  • SR 104 North toward SR 762 near Commercial Point

Overnight Location: North of SR 104/207 intersection

AAA7 Senior Citizens Art Show

Call for Entries

 

The 42nd Annual Senior Citizens Art Exhibit, sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging District 7 (AAA7), will be held in September and October at Bristol Village in Waverly, Ohio. Applications are now available, and submissions are being accepted.

 

Anyone who is 55 years of age or older may participate. The event’s official application form is available at the AAA7’s website at www.aaa7.org under the “Happening Now” section on the Home Page, or those who are interested can call for an application to be mailed – 1-800-582-7277 or e-mail info@aaa7.org.  

 

Examples of art categories that may be entered in the contest taking place in October include: acrylic, charcoal, counted cross stitch, mixed media, oil, pastels, pencil, and photography. Judging themes include: abstract, animals and birds, cartoons, floral, landscape, portraits (humans), seascape, and still life. Written pieces including poems and essays are also accepted.

 

This year’s deadline to submit artwork is August 16th to local Senior Centers in the AAA’s ten-county district (Adams, Brown, Gallia, Highland, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, Ross, Scioto and Vinton) or August 23rd to the AAA7’s Administrative Office in Jackson, Ohio, located at 1 Acy Avenue. Art will be displayed at Bristol Village in Waverly from September 23rd through October 18th.
